MCP server directories become an agent discovery surface

Registries and catalogs now sit between tool authors and agent runtimes.

After MCP’s launch, multiple public directories listed community servers. These catalogs are discovery layers, not payment layers. They create the same PAYABLE ≠ DISCOVERABLE split Foundry already measures on x402.

Why it matters

Whoever indexes MCP servers will later index paid MCP. Directory quality is a moat candidate.
