Coinbase open-sourced AgentKit so agents can perform wallet operations through a structured toolkit rather than raw key management in prompts. It sits next to CDP and x402: one stack for holding value, another for paying HTTP resources.

Why it matters

Agent wallets are a separate product surface from payment protocols. Confusion between “has a wallet” and “can pay 402” is a recurring buyer-hand-raise.
