What is agent-to-agent commerce?

One piece of software hiring another, with payment, contract and delivery — not two chatbots role-playing.

Agent-to-agent commerce is a paid handoff: Agent A needs an outcome, Agent B has a schema and a price, payment settles, result returns, both sides can verify.

Google A2A attacks the tasking/interop problem. x402 and MPP attack the payment problem. MCP attacks the tool interface problem. Real A2A commerce needs all three, plus identity and dispute policy that humans still own.
